Dry eyes is a chronic disease on tears and mucus that is caused by several factors. If you have dry eyes, your eyes may sting or burn, and visual performance also can be affected.
According to a study, life environment causes dry eyes symptoms. 30% of office workers and 40% of contact lens users are suspected case of the disease.
Dry eyes are caused by a lack of adequate tears. The several main causes are following;
- Aging
- Certain medical conditions,
(Including Allergic conjunctivitis, conjunctivo chalasis, Sjogren's syndrome,
Stevens-Johnson syndrome) - Certain medications
(Including Drugs for high blood pressure and tranquilizers.) - Laser eye surgery, though symptoms of dry eyes related to this procedure are usually temporary
- Tear gland damage from inflammation.
Symptoms
Signs and symptoms, which usually affect both eyes, may include:
- Dryness
- Inflammations
- Pain
- Sensitivity to light or air
- Tear gland damage from inflammation.
However if you have watery eyes or corneal epithelial disorder, you'll experience , conjunctivo chalasis or blur vision because of your eye cannot spred enough tears to the surface of corne. Moreover, contact lens users are likely to be suspected case of the disease. In order to prevent dry eyes syndrome, periodic medical check is recommended.
