Cataract Surgery Flow

• 1.First visit

  According to your cataract stage and your health condition, the doctor will decide whether cataract surgery is necessary.

  

• 2. Surgery schedule

  The doctor will decide the surgery schedule.
  We can schedule the surgery within 3 weeks from the first visit.

  

• 3. Examinations required

  You need to make a reservation and come to our clinic to have some preoperative examination before the surgery day. The preoperative examination will be performed in order to decide the diopter of the intraocular lenses and it also investigates whether there are other diseases on your body. For example, blood sampling, corneal endothelial cell test, blood oxygenation level check, etc.

  

• 4. Explanation about Surgery

  The doctor will explain about the details of the cataract surgery.

  

• 5. Sugery day　flow

  • (1) Reception

    ·Please visit us with your family 1-2 hours before surgery.
    ·Do not forget the appointment slip, health insurance card, patient ID card and the letter of consent.

    

  • (2) Waiting Room

    ·All the accessory including nail polish and make-up should be taken off.
    ・We can lend you a surgical gown and cap.
    ·We will put eye drops in your eye several times.
    ·You will be given an intravenous drip.

    

  • (3) Surgery Room

    ・You will be advised to have a seat.
    ·See cataract surgery
    ·It takes about 10-20 minutes until finish.

    

  • (4) Recovery Room

    ·After surgery, you will need to take a rest for a while.
    ·We hope you to listen to the postoperative explanation with your family.

    

• 6. How often you need to come after the surgery

  • A day after the surgery
    You must come to our clinic and have the follow-up examination
  • For a month
    Once in 3-7days, you need to come to a follow up
  • After a month
    Once in 2-3 weeks, you need to come to follow up
  • After 3 months
    Once in 3-6 months, you need to come to follow up
